It was recently announced that Andy Jackson from Terrible Things is no longer in the band. Which is a shame, because he was my favorite. I love his voice. It was nice because they had two vocalists. If you aren't familiar with Terrible Things, Fred is the lead singer-from Taking Back Sunday. I'm glad I got to see them twice while Andy was still in the band. Andy is from a band called Hot Rod Circuit. He also has another band called Death in the Park. Both are good. So I mean, he definitely has other projects and things he can work on. I just really liked him in Terrible Things. They're album is amazing from start to finish.
Here is their first single from the album. It's called Revolution.

The Starting Line
Another band that is very high up on my list-The Starting Line. I don't really have much to say...other than that they're soo good. Plain and simple. They broke up, but recently played a few shows together. I'm hoping they do get back together and record a new album, but who knows. Kenny Vasoli, the lead singer, has another band called Person L. I was able to see Person L, but have never seen The Starting Line.
I don't listen to Person L as much. I'm definitely more partial to The Starting Line. And now that I think about it, I haven't really listened to them in a really long time. But summer is coming, and they're perfect to listen to in the summer.
This song is really old. But it's one of my favorites.

Sam Roberts
Does anyone remember the show Degrassi? It's still on..but with a completely different cast.
I first heard Sam Roberts on an episode of Degrassi. The song 'Hard Road' played during a scene and the more I heard the song, the more I like it. (And I used to watch Degrassi ALL the time.) So I had heard the song a lot.
Sam Roberts is the first band I started listening to that was different than everything else I listened to.I was in the 8th grade at the time, and I listed to whatever was on Top 40 radio at the time. Really poppy music.
They are basically the band that shaped what I listen to now. Because once I started listening to them, my taste in music totally changed.
Here is the music video for Hard Road. I was able to see them at the Grog Shop about 2 years ago. They're a Canadian band-so it's harder to see them in the US. It was great seeing them play this song and just seeing them in general since they had such an influence on me musically.

Mumford and Sons
Some of you may be aware of Mumford and Sons. I heard about them through the radio station when we started playing their song 'The Cave'. It's awesome folk/indie music. It wasn't until I saw them perform at The Grammy's that I really got hooked. I hope to see them live one day.
Here's their performance at The Grammy's. They performed with The Avett Brothers and Bob Dylan. It gives me chills every time I watch it.

The Honorary Title
The Honorary Title is very high up on my list of bands I love. They unfortunately aren't together anymore, but Jarrod Gorbel, the lead singer of THT does solo stuff now. Personally, I like The Honorary Title a lot more, but I'll take what I can get. Jarrod's voice is amazing when he uses it to its fullest potential. What I'm about to say sounds like I don't really like him. I do, but I just think he could be better (aka-The Honorary Title should get back together).
I've seen The Honorary Title once, and it wasn't even with the original members (except Jarrod). It was the last tour before he officially called it quits. I've seen Jarrod a few times and when I have, it's been just him with a violinist, which I'll admit is great. However, his songs are the same on the album. He also slows them down a bit. He did tour with Good Old War and they played on stage with him for a few of the songs. It was full band and he played his faster-paced songs. It was the best I've ever seen him. And that's what I wish he would do more of.
Here's a video of the first song I ever heard by The Honorary Title.
Side note: Jarrod Gorbel is one of the strangest, but funniest people I've ever met. He also used to date Kelly Osbourne.

Hanson
So some of you may think I'm crazy for posting something about Hanson. A lot of people I talk to are surprised when they find out they're still around. I am proud to say I'm a huge fan of Hanson. I always have been since the 90s when they first came out with 'MMMBop'. I've seen them 4 times and can't wait to see them again. They put on an amazing show and it's so cool to see that they are still making music after so many years.
I always tell people...if you haven't listened to them since 'MMMBop', listen to them again. They've obviously grown up and they're music has definitely changed. Posted below is the video for 'MMMBop' and below that is their latest video for a song called 'Give a Little'. There is clearly a difference. :)

Grouplove
Grouplove is another band I heard about through the radio station. Their song 'Colours' was in rotation and while at first I wasn't sure how I felt about it, the more I listened to it, the more I loved it.
Grouplove's music is just very happy and positive. In an interview that I watched with the band, they talk about being friends and that they're all about just having fun together...which is kind of where they got the name "Grouplove" from.
Instead of posting that music video for 'Colours' I decided to post an acoustic performance of the song so you can see them interact and the 'group love'. :)
