The Story and The Song

To get started, I guess I'll tell you a little about myself and what the purpose of this blog is.

My name is Markanne and I am a junior Broadcasting/Mass Communications major with a minor in Public Relations. I am involved with my campus radio station, 88.3 FM and love music. Which brings me to what this blog will be about-Music. Each week I'll blog about a different band or artist, maybe tell a story about them or an experience I have had personally involving the band.  I'll post links to sites or Youtube videos.  Hopefully from this, you will find some new music you like. I love sharing music with people, so I'm really looking forward to this whole experience.

In case you were wondering why I chose to title this blog "The Story and The Song"...I'll tell you. The Story and The Song is the name of an album by a band called Between the Trees.  They are absolutely one of my favorite bands, and while they have recently decided to break-up and focus on other things...I still love them and probably always will.   The album came out in 2005 and it was the first album released by the band.  Expect a blog devoted to them at some point.

Every song has a story.  Every song means something different to everyone. So, I thought this was the perfect title for a music blog.
